Clan Chat Rules

From today onwards, we are going to have a few rules to ensure that the Clan Chat stays as friendly and mature as possible as we continue to grow in size.

These WILL be enforced, you WILL be penalized for breaking them, regardless of how long you have been in Stellarstop.

Learn these rules well, or face the consequences.

• All R.S Rules apply to the Clan Chat too. No excuses.
• Attempting to "dodge" the filter by misspelling offensive words will result in a prompt kick from the Clan Chat.
• Harassment towards any individual will NOT be tolerated. Period.
• Arguments of any kind should be kept out of the Clan Chat.
• Typing 6 or more lines of text without interruption will be regarding as spamming, and is against the rules.
• If you are being disruptive, you will be removed from the Clan Chat.

The Penalties
First Time Offense - You will receive a warning.
Second Time Offense - You will be kicked from the Clan Chat.
Continuous Offenses - You will be either temporarily or permanently banned from the Clan Chat.

If somebody is breaking one of these rules, please do not spam the CC with "Soandso broke a rule!".
The Stellarstop Moderators have eyes, and are capable of seeing this for ourselves.

If a Stellarstop Moderator is not present, practice tolerance. Your Ignore List IS a valuable tool.

Swearing is forbidden in the RuneScape Rules, and so it will not be allowed in the Stellarstop Clan Chat either.

Acronyms (like 'FML') are generally ok.

Seriously, I've seen the ranked people not giving warnings to people who break the rules.

IMO a clan shouldn't be too strict, we don't need rules for little things. If say someone is abusing another clan member then yes that should be dealt with. Considering the size of this clan then pretty much the active members know all the other active members and probably don't mind a little rule breaking. Unless it's serious or a complaint is made then I don't see the reason for things to get complicated with numerous rules.

Ben, can you give details of the rules being broken? Preferably mention no names just the offenses.

Also if I'm actually on RS and in the clan chat and don't warn rule breakers it's because I'm AFK or not paying attention to the CC. I think ranks should be reset and given to those who are active and willing to help the clan. Kieran can remove my rank, I don't care or want it.

I usually enforce the rules but I'm not nazi about it. We're all mature (or at least I like to think so) and these rules aren't law - they're more guidelines I like to think.

If you do have a problem, tell me. I think I'm the most active person in the cc with kicking ability (correct me if I'm wrong), so there should be no problem in reaching me

I can only think of four:

This is common. However, I can understand that because players have an ignore list this wouldn't be enforced (Despite the rules saying otherwise)

I have already kicked someone multiple times with an offensive name, also reported him (not the best of names....)

I must say that i haven't seen multilogging or account sharing however; others may have, just not me.

On the swearing/spamming issue, i do tell people to stop IF i see them doing it (avoiding filter). Cause i just don't like. Starred out ones are cool, they do no harm; But i can't stand local swearing in the clan chat, just bugs me.

On a defensive side of the star ranked people: We're not always looking at the clan chat. We could be afk, busy with the actual game, or reading/watching other websites. I'd suggest actually Private Messaging one of them on if we do not see it; as they are generally more visible.
@ antony. Yes, small things shouldn't be too much of a problem, as a clan should have some freedom. However, actually doging the filter to say something, is against the Runescape rules anyway, same with spamming. Seeing as those two have to be enforced in general anyway, i don't see any rules which are out of the normal, or are too strict.
